Your generosity, advocacy, and belief in dignity-centered care make this work possible. Because of you, we surpassed our end-of-year fundraising goal of $10,000 and have already raised more than $12,000 this month. We are deeply grateful to every donor who gave in December and throughout the year, and we extend a special thank you to The Robert Nelson Foundation for their generous gift of $5,000, which helped propel us past our goal. With your support, this year we were able to make a real impact: ✨ 124,000+ garments given a second life ✨ 6,500+ hygiene kits distributed ✨ 5,000+ people served with dignity-centered care While we are encouraged by this support, the reality on the ground is increasingly urgent. The demand for clean clothing, shoes, accessories, bras, menstrual products, and hygiene kits continues to grow far beyond our capacity to meet it.We currently have a waitlist of 147 organizations representing 233 service sites across Los Angeles requesting supplies from Project Ropa. These requests come from hospital staff, public defenders, school counselors, shelters, social workers, outreach teams, and individuals reaching out directly. The message we hear every day is the same: they need supplies, and they need them now. Wildfires, immigration raids, and federal funding cuts have pushed thousands of neighbors into deeper crisis. At Project Ropa, we feel the impact of these compounding emergencies every single day. Our waitlist has more than doubled, and requests for essential items—especially warm clothing, work attire, new underwear, socks, bras, menstrual products, and hygiene kits—have surged far beyond what we can currently provide. An Alarming Reality We are seeing an increasingly common and heartbreaking trend: people are being forced to choose between clothing, hygiene products, and food. Clothing is often overlooked as a basic need, yet it is foundational to dignity, health, safety, and opportunity.
