OUR IMPACT REPORT Learn More

3,000 People Dignified. 3,000 People Respected. 3,000 People Heard. 3,000 People Served.

Since we started in 2016, Project Ropa has had the privilege of directly serving and restoring dignity to more than 3,000 men and women experiencing homelessness with clothing and access to other hygiene services and another 24,000+ through our network of nonprofit partners. We have also saved more than 75,000 pounds of clothing from ending up in landfills.

But we didn’t reach this milestone alone. Your belief in us has helped us launch a social enterprise that provides employment opportunities to previously incarcerated individuals and those transitioning out of homelessness. And your support has meant that this year we were able to realize our goal of getting a mobile clothing closet van on the road which will allow us to restore dignity to more people. As well, our recycling program provides clothing and shoes to a growing network of nonprofit partners who help individuals and families experiencing and transitioning out of homelessness.

Together, at the grassroots and street level, we are building an organization that dignifies those experiencing homelessness, helps break the cycle of homelessness for good, and is working with nonprofit partners to build a community of support. Together, we are constructing an organization that sees the whole person for their intrinsic worth, hears their story, and offers a path forward.

With nearly 60,000 homeless men and women in Los Angeles County, we know there is still so much work to do. With so many people waiting for a forever home, our mission is to be there to meet their most immediate needs. That’s where you enter the picture.

On December 3rd during Giving Tuesday, throughout our End of the Year Campaign, and at our Holiday Party on January 11th at Sol Mexican Cocina, you have a powerful opportunity to write the next chapter of this organization. You possess the power to write a few lines in the story of someone like Pauline.

Our 2019 End of the Year Campaign Goal is $10,000. Thanks to the generous support of an anonymous donor who will be matching gifts up to $1,000, our campaign is off to a strong start. But, we will need even more support to reach our ambitious goal.
