We’re thrilled to share that Project Ropa has been awarded the Golden Arrow Award, the highest honor presented by the California Product Stewardship Council (CPSC). The award recognizes an organization with a strong overall record in product stewardship and was presented last week at the CRRA Annual Conference.
This recognition is especially meaningful as we celebrate 10 years of Project Ropa.
From the beginning, our founder, Caitlin Adler, built two commitments into the organization: serve people experiencing homelessness with dignity, wherever they are, and take responsibility for what happens to the clothing we handle.
Our commitment to responsible operations extends beyond clothing. Project Ropa’s warehouse is a Certified Green Warehouse, reflecting our ongoing efforts to reduce waste, improve our environmental practices, and operate more sustainably.
Every piece of clothing that comes through Project Ropa is sorted carefully and handled responsibly, to keep usable textiles in circulation and out of landfills whenever possible. That work requires more sorting, more tracking, and countless hours of behind-the-scenes effort. It may not always be visible, but it is an important part of our mission.
We are incredibly proud that our peers in the recycling and sustainability community recognized this work with the Golden Arrow Award.
At Project Ropa, we believe we have two responsibilities: to the people we serve and to the planet we all share. This award is a meaningful recognition of both.

Over the past decade, Project Ropa has served thousands of Angelenos, distributed more than 1.2 million garments, and diverted over 300 tons of textiles from local landfills.
Together, we’ve created meaningful impact for people and the planet.
Now, we’re celebrating what we’ve accomplished together and looking ahead to the next decade.
