Huge thanks to @getridwell for delivering a van full of warm-weather clothing! Your generosity helps keep our neighbors safe from the heat, protected from the sun, and confident in daily life.

Clothing is more than fabric—it’s health, dignity, and opportunity. Every shirt and pair of pants helps someone show up comfortably and confidently.

We’re so grateful for partners like Ridwell who make this impact possible. Together, we’re dressing our community in care.

🧡 When benefits pause, impossible choices begin.

With the SNAP shutdown, many neighbors are forced to choose between food, menstrual and hygiene products, clean clothing, and shoes. Earlier this week, we heard from Sherrie, a disabled senior:

“I’m very low on clothes (none clean or warm for night) and have only flip-flops as it gets cold. My food stamps were confirmed not to come due to the shutdown… I have severe food allergies, so I need to shop off my card, not at food pantries, to stay away from eggs/peanuts/soy. Can you please provide me with clothing and hygiene products?”

At Project Ropa, we’re responding with clean clothing, warm layers & shoes, hygiene and period products, and grab-and-go packs at our service sites—so no one has to choose between eating and basic dignity.

    How to help today:
💰 Donate — keeps our mobile closet stocked (link in bio)
🧻 Give in-kind — men’s/women’s warm layers, sturdy shoes, underwear, socks, travel-size toiletries
🫶🏽 Share this post — help us reach those who need us

Together, we can keep our neighbors fed, clothed, and cared for—not just today, but all year round. 🧥🧼🍲

💙 Have a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)? Put it to work today for immediate impact. A grant to Project Ropa helps deliver clean clothing, hygiene essentials, and wrap-around support directly to people experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles.

🧡 When food benefits stop, hard choices start. With SNAP/WIC interruptions and rising costs, many neighbors must choose between groceries and basics like underwear, socks, clean clothing, and hygiene items. That’s where Project Ropa steps in—meeting people where they are with dignity and essentials.

Clean clothing isn’t a privilege. It is a basic need that protects health, builds confidence and opens doors to work and housing. Yet in California, clothing is still not recognized as essential. As a result, programs like ours receive little to no support.

Be part of the solution. Add your name. Raise your voice. Together we can make clothing access a human right.

    🧡Growing Demand. Urgent Need.🧡

With recent SNAP cuts, more neighbors are forced to choose between groceries, clean clothing, and basic hygiene.

Last week, we received a message from someone staying in transitional housing:

“With the government shutdown, I won’t any benefits. I know it’s a lot to ask, but is there any way you could help me with clothes and hygiene?”

Requests for clothing, grab-and-go packs, laundry, and hygiene kits are rising rapidly. We currently have a waitlist of 190+ service sites seeking support.

Here’s how you can help today:
💰Donate to keep our mobile van and shelves stocked: www.projectropa.org/donate
    👟Give in-kind: snacks, toiletries, underwear, men’s sneakers
🫶🏼 Share or volunteer to support your community

Together, we can ensure our neighbors stay clean, cared for, and dignified.
