👕💛 Clothing Deserves to Be Recognized as Essential 💛👕

We all know that food, water, and shelter are vital, but so is clothing. According to Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, clothing is a fundamental physiological necessity. Without it, people face serious barriers to safety, stability, and opportunity.

Yet, in California, clothing is still not classified as an essential good. That means nonprofits like Project Ropa receive limited government support for providing something as basic as clean, well-fitting clothes, leaving thousands without access.

At Project Ropa, we’re filling this critical gap through our Mobile Clothing Closet and Community Clothing & Hygiene Bank, helping unhoused and low-income Angelenos regain a sense of dignity, confidence, and hope.

🧼🧥 Clean clothing isn’t just a comfort—it’s a key to employment, housing, and health. Let’s make sure it’s treated that way.

🌿 Exciting news! Project Ropa is officially a Lazy Acres Envirotokens recipient at the Los Feliz store!

Now through June 2026, every time you shop at @lazyacresmarket in Los Feliz and bring your reusable bags, you can choose to donate your bag credits to Project Ropa. ♻️👕

Your tokens directly support our mission to provide clean clothing and hygiene essentials to those in need, while also reducing textile waste in our community. It’s simple, sustainable, and impactful.

At the end of each month, Lazy Acres tallies up the tokens donated and converts them into a donation to us. So the more you shop (with reusables!), the more you give back.

🛒 Next time you’re shopping at Lazy Acres in Los Feliz, don’t forget to bring your bags and drop your tokens for Project Ropa! Thank you for helping us deliver dignity, one bag at a time.

You don’t need perfect words to make an impact—just a little kindness and the will to show up. 💛

Every pair of shoes, every clean shirt we hand out is a reminder that dignity can be restored, one act at a time.

Let’s keep showing up. Let’s keep speaking kindness—loud and clear. 🧦👕

👕 What Happens to the Clothes We Throw Away?

Every year, the average American tosses 81 pounds of clothing — most of it ends up in landfills or gets burned. Only a small fraction is recycled, and even less reaches the people who truly need it.

    At @projectropa, we’re changing that. ♻️✨

Through our Mobile Hygiene Service, we give quality clothing a second life — and restore dignity and confidence to those experiencing homelessness.

👟 Got clothes you no longer wear?
    Let them make a difference.
📦 DM us to schedule a pickup today.
