What’s inside a Project Ropa hygiene kit? 🧼🧦

Each kit contains a minimum of 10 essential items, including a new pair of socks, shampoo, soap, razor, shaving cream, feminine products, toothbrush, toothpaste, Band-Aids, sanitizer, and more.

Access to hygiene products is about more than cleanliness. It supports health, dignity, confidence, and comfort, especially for community members navigating homelessness or financial hardship. Small essentials can make a meaningful difference in helping someone feel prepared for work, school, appointments, and everyday life.

Help us keep these critical resources stocked. A donation of any size helps fund hygiene kits for community members in need.

Clothing is more than a basic need.

It can mean showing up to a job interview with confidence, accessing services with dignity, or simply feeling seen.

Project Ropa’s Mobile Clothing Closet provides free clothing, shoes, and hygiene essentials to community members in need. As the funding landscape becomes more challenging than ever for basic needs organizations like ours, securing general operating support to sustain our day-to-day operations is increasingly difficult, but essential to keeping this work going.

A donation of any size helps us continue showing up with dignity, care, and essential resources.

A policy gap most people don`t know exists:

In California and at the federal level, clothing and shoes are not classified as basic needs — meaning they`re excluded from programs like SNAP and WIC.

For the 75,000+ unhoused individuals in Los Angeles County alone, this creates an impossible choice between food and clean clothing.

At @Project Ropa, we`re working to close this gap through direct service, textile rescue, and advocacy for policy change.

Ever wonder what happens to a donated item at Project Ropa? 💙

Every donation starts with generosity. Once received, items are carefully sorted by our team and volunteers, checked for quality, organized by size and category, and prepared for distribution.

From there, your donated clothing reaches community members experiencing homelessness and hardship through our direct service sites and trusted partners. A jacket becomes warmth. A clean outfit becomes confidence. A donated item becomes dignity.

Your donations do more than fill a closet. They help meet immediate needs and remind someone they are cared for.

Want to be part of the journey? Make a donation today and help us continue providing clothing, dignity, and care to community members in need: projectropa.org/donate

When you are living on the street, managing your period isn’t just uncomfortable. It’s an absolute crisis.

Today, we are shedding light on the crushing reality of period poverty. No one should have to sacrifice food for basic hygiene, yet this is the daily trade-off for thousands in our community.

At @ProjectRopa, we are filling this gap every single day by distributing hundreds of dignity kits directly to the street. Because dignity means having everything you need, precisely when and where you need it.

At Project Ropa, we don’t distribute clothing — we restore dignity.

Julian’s experience reflects our core approach: every person who visits our Mobile Clothing Closet receives personalized, one-on-one support to select items that fit their size, style, and identity.

This dignity-centered model is what sets Project Ropa apart. It’s not about volume. It’s about seeing each person as a whole human being.

This Memorial Day, we honor and remember the brave soldiers who gave their lives in service to our country. We also recognize the many veterans in our communities who continue to face challenges, including homelessness and housing insecurity.

At Project Ropa, we remain committed to supporting individuals with dignity, compassion, and access to essential resources. Today and every day, we remember those who served and continue working toward a community where no veteran is left behind. 🇺🇸
