The Golden Arrow Award is the highest honor given by the @calpsc presented each year at the CRRA Conference, to the organization that best exemplifies excellence across every category CPSC tracks: waste prevention, reuse, and closing the loop on materials.

It`s judged by the people who know this work best, leaders across California`s recycling, product stewardship, and sustainability sectors. That`s what makes it different from something we`d say about ourselves. Our peers looked at ten years of our sorting records and diversion numbers and told us we`re doing this right.

Today is National Clothing Insecurity Awareness Day.

In California, clothing is still not classified as an essential need, even though access to clean clothes affects health, job interviews, school attendance, and basic dignity.

At Project Ropa, we see the impact of clothing insecurity every week at our Mobile Clothing Closet.

Swipe through to learn what clothing insecurity looks like and how you can help close the gap.

Ten years ago, our founder, Caitlin Adler, built a mobile clothing closet to meet people experiencing homelessness on the streets with dignity, where they were.

At the same time, she made another commitment that received far less attention: every piece of clothing that came through our hands would be handled responsibly, sorted carefully, and kept out of landfills whenever possible.

That commitment has never been glamorous. It means more sorting, more tracking, and countless hours of behind the scenes work in our warehouse. It is not always the work people see, but it is work that matters.

Last week, the @calpsc recognized that commitment with the Golden Arrow Award.

At Project Ropa, we believe we have two responsibilities: to the people we serve and to the planet we all share. We are incredibly proud that our peers recognize the importance of both.

Here’s to the next ten years of creating opportunity through clothing while keeping usable textiles in circulation. ♻️

At Project Ropa, we believe clothing is more than fabric. For ten years, we have run LA County`s only mobile walk-in clothing closet, meeting people experiencing homelessness where they are with clean clothes, hygiene essentials, and dignity.

Our warehouse in Gardena, our mobile closet on the road, and our Community Clothing and Hygiene Bank all work toward one mission: restoring dignity while reducing textile waste.

Ten years in, we are just getting started. 💙

A huge thank you to @bombas for their incredible generosity and continued support of Project Ropa. 🧦❤️

Last month, Bombas donated 7,750 pairs of socks to Project Ropa, helping us provide an essential item to thousands of people in our community.

Socks may seem like a small thing, but they are one of the most requested items we distribute. Clean, comfortable socks help keep feet warm, dry, and protected. For someone experiencing homelessness, having a fresh pair can make a meaningful difference in comfort, health, and dignity.

We are so grateful to Bombas for continuing to show up for Project Ropa and for the people we serve. Partnerships like this allow us to meet real needs with care and dignity.

Thank you, Bombas, for helping us keep our community on their feet. 💙
