👕💛 Clothing Deserves to Be Recognized as Essential 💛👕
Food, water, and shelter are vital… but so is clothing. Without clean, well-fitting clothes, people face serious barriers to safety, health, employment, and housing.
Yet in California, clothing is still not classified as an essential good. This means nonprofits like Project Ropa receive limited government support—even as we have a waitlist of 160+ local organizations requesting clothing supplies every week.
That’s why we’re stepping in with our Mobile Clothing Closet and Community Clothing & Hygiene Bank, helping unhoused and low-income Angelenos regain dignity, confidence, and hope. 🧼🧥
We can’t do it alone. ✊ Help us make clothing recognized as essential—sign our petition today! Link in bio.

💙 Huge thanks to our friends at @monfrere for their continued support of Project Ropa!
We’re incredibly grateful for their recent donation of over 2,000 pairs of new men’s jeans 👖🙌 — these high-quality essentials will go directly to the people we serve, helping restore dignity and confidence to individuals experiencing homelessness and extreme poverty across Los Angeles.
Partnerships like this make our work possible, and we couldn’t do it without compassionate brands and supporters who believe in our mission. Thank you, Monfrère, for making such a meaningful impact!

✨ This Labor Day, we pause to honor the incredible contributions of workers everywhere — especially those whose hard work often goes unseen. Labor Day is a reminder of the dignity and value of work, and the importance of building a more equitable future for all.
In observance of the holiday, our warehouse and service sites will be closed on Monday, September 1. We’ll resume normal operations the following day.
Thank you for your continued support as we work together to provide clothing, hygiene essentials, and dignity to our community. 💙
Wishing you a safe and restful Labor Day!

🌟 A huge thank you to @buffaloexchange for including Project Ropa in your Tokens for Bags program earlier this year!
Because of the support from Buffalo Exchange shoppers who chose to donate their token instead of taking a bag, we received a generous contribution of over $530 💙👕✨
Your support helps us provide clothing, hygiene items, and dignity to people experiencing homelessness and extreme poverty across Los Angeles. We’re so grateful to be part of a community that believes in giving back and making a difference.
