Clean clothing isn’t a privilege. It is a basic need that protects health, builds confidence and opens doors to work and housing. Yet in California, clothing is still not recognized as essential. As a result, programs like ours receive little to no support.
Be part of the solution. Add your name. Raise your voice. Together we can make clothing access a human right.

🧡Growing Demand. Urgent Need.🧡
With recent SNAP cuts, more neighbors are forced to choose between groceries, clean clothing, and basic hygiene.
Last week, we received a message from someone staying in transitional housing:
“With the government shutdown, I won’t any benefits. I know it’s a lot to ask, but is there any way you could help me with clothes and hygiene?”
Requests for clothing, grab-and-go packs, laundry, and hygiene kits are rising rapidly. We currently have a waitlist of 190+ service sites seeking support.
Here’s how you can help today:
💰Donate to keep our mobile van and shelves stocked: www.projectropa.org/donate
👟Give in-kind: snacks, toiletries, underwear, men’s sneakers
🫶🏼 Share or volunteer to support your community
Together, we can ensure our neighbors stay clean, cared for, and dignified.

♻️ Less than 1% of new textiles are recycled into new clothes. The rest often ends up burned or in landfills.
At Project Ropa, we extend the life of clothing, keeping it in use and out of waste while providing essentials to people experiencing homelessness and hardship.
Join us to make fashion circular: donate, host a drive, or volunteer.

🧡 When food benefits stop, hard choices start. With SNAP/WIC interruptions and rising costs, many neighbors must choose between groceries and basics like clean clothing, underwear, socks, and hygiene essentials. Project Ropa steps in.
We give textiles a second life and restore dignity through our mobile clothing closet, grab-and-go clothing packs, and hygiene kits, alongside partners providing showers, hot meals, haircuts, ID replacement, medical/mental health care, and housing resources—all in one place.
How you can help today:
💰 Donate to keep our vans rolling and shelves stocked (link in bio)
🧻 Give in-kind: granola bars, water bottles, snack food, individually wrapped toilet paper, body wipes, new underwear, travel-size toiletries
👟 Volunteer or host a drive at work/school
🫶🏼 Share this post to spread the word
Together, we can keep people fed, clothed, and cared for all year round. 🍎👟💦🧻

🎃 This Halloween, the real treat is dignity. ✨
With the upcoming SNAP shutdown, more neighbors are choosing between food and basic essentials. Our “treat bags” are filled with clean clothing, granola bars, water, socks and underwear, feminine products, laundry detergent, hygiene kits, and warmth—because feeling clean, cared for, and seen shouldn’t be scary.
If you’re able, help us restock: donate or give in-kind (granola bars, water, toilet paper, new socks and underwear, travel-size toiletries). Link in bio. 💙

It’s been a month, and we’re still buzzing. Huge thanks to everyone who upcycled, swapped, and shared the love with us and our partners @foragercrafts × @climatedesignersla × @little.green.art.studio. Your creativity kept textiles in use and out of landfills—and put great pieces into new hands.
From on-the-spot tee transformations to treasure-hunt vintage finds and clothing drop-offs, you showed what a circular community looks like. If you snapped photos, tag us—we’d love to share your upcycled items!
Missed it? You can still support: donate gently used clothing, volunteer with our team, or try an at-home upcycle project this weekend.
